President’s Message: Shop Small, Do Something Big (11/22)
I love this time of the year, don’t you?
Alameda is so beautiful. People are more friendly than ever. The stores and restaurants are enchanting.
We’re supporting small business this holiday season. It has been a rough two years for them and we’re hoping you will show them some love this holiday season.
Every week, we are publishing a Small Business Challenge idea through email and on our blog. (Past ideas will be posted weekly on this space.) You can also catch our posts supporting small business on social media. Feel free to share them. And we’re sharing things on our newsletter.
From reviews to gift cards, word of mouth support to purchases, we can all do our part to support our neighbors and their businesses this holiday season.
With Thanksgiving this week, we’ll be doing enough cooking. Why not take this week easy and get something delivered or go and pick it up? Tip well. You’ll enjoy some delicious food and support a local business. Plus, the waitstaff will appreciate support for their efforts as well.
As we officially enter the holiday season, please consider allocating some of your budget to local businesses. Small Business Saturday (the day after Black Friday, this year is November 27th) is a terrific time to show your support but any day is appreciated.
Remember, on average, 68% of every dollar spent locally goes back into the community. Doesn’t that sound great?
Enjoy Thanksgiving and the official start of the holiday shopping season. We’ll see you around.
