Yesterday, the big news was Elon Musk buying Twitter. If you haven’t heard, not only did he buy it for $44 billion, he’s taking it private (again). There seem to be a lot of questions around what this means for the platform and freedom of speech.

But what could it mean for your business?

If you’re currently on Twitter, it may be a wait and see situation. If you’re not on Twitter–because your audience isn’t there–this could change over the next several months.

Does Twitter really matter to your marketing strategy? Maybe not, but what is important to point out here is how quickly things can change. Business owners these days must remain flexible and agile. You should never be content in repeating everything you did last year, this year; even if last year was a success.

Monitoring the landscape and your customer sentiment is incredibly important to growth and success. This requires a very alert leader.

But it’s difficult to stay atop every trend out there.

Don’t worry. We’re here to keep an eye on things and let you know of the big changes coming down the road. In the case of Twitter, it may not be the right fit for your business, but it is certainly worth monitoring and talking to your ideal customers to see if they are on there. We may be seeing a migration/return to the site for some over the next year.

What do you think? How do you expect Musk’s influence to be felt?
