President’s Message

This year we launched the inaugural session of Leadership Alameda. This program was designed to introduce current and future leaders to the many facets and industries here on the island. It has been a tremendous success with 20 professionals completing the program in the next few months.

We will soon be readying materials for our second leadership class. We’re getting the word out early because we want to ensure a diverse class from varied backgrounds and industries. All interested should apply.

This year’s highlights have included a tour of current real estate development projects, a boat ride to see our area from the water, conversations with elected leaders, leadership training, and meetings with transportation experts, to name a few.

If you, or someone you know, is interested in leadership and would like to be considered for next year’s class, watch this space for notice of the application. Applications will likely be available the first week of September, with applications closing in mid-October.

Classes begin in January 2023 and run through October 2023. The sessions are once a month for the whole day. In addition to interactive session/tours, participants will meet with their groups to plan a community service project and attend 1-2 outside meetings.
