The first week of May is National Small Business Week where the nation celebrates the contributions of small businesses to our communities. Here in Alameda, we are fortunate to have many unique and passionate small business owners and operators. And we added to those numbers of small businesses even through the pandemic.

This year’s Small Business Week’s theme from the US SBA is “Building a Better America Through Entrepreneurship.”

Don’t forget to check out the SBA’s virtual summit this week. The program features discussions by vendors who can help you do more with less and other helpful information for small businesses. Programming is free.

Small Business Week Resources

Don’t miss these resources as well:

Small Business Week is the ideal time to recommit to helping entrepreneurial neighbors by supporting their businesses. However, if your budget is feeling pinched, you can support them in ways other than purchases. Write a review, make a referral, post something positive about a favorite business on social media. Show them you care about their business and want them to continue to be a valuable part of our community.

How will you show your support this week and into the future?
